Daily checks
A visual assessment is carried out before children arrive, covering play areas, corridor, kitchen, bathroom and outdoor areas. Any unusual activity or outing is assessed separately.
Equipment and hygiene
Toys and equipment are checked for condition, age suitability and choking hazards. Cleaning routines cover toys and shared areas. Children are supported with handwashing.
Supervision
Children are supervised, including during water activities and rest. Kitchen access is supervised and hot food, utensils and appliances are kept out of reach.
